About 2 months ago I scored a 2012 (2013 model) 3.0ltr supercharged XJ portfolio with only 16000 miles on it, it had been regularly serviced and garaged all its life. It's a brand new car. I paid £18, 900, the original bill of sale was still with it and the owner paid £67, 500 10 years ago. I could not be happier. Got a 12 month main dealer warranty with it, it has brand new tyres and is immaculate.

As an ex executive chauffeur I can happily say that I adored my S class and I would have one, but for 20k you'll get a higher mileage example that will cost alot to maintain. I know people have still got an issue with Skoda, but for me I'd rather spend my 20k on a Skoda Superb 280 L&K. The Skoda Superb is long wheelbase so its like a limousine in the back and the L&K gives you alot of spec, plus 4wd, an engine that does 0-60 in under 6 seconds and running costs that won't steal your wallet and do a runner. I'm expecting much backlash for my comments, but we are all allowed our own opinions.

Hey Matt I actually looked at your BMW 5 + 6 series video when deciding to get my car. I decided for the 5 series 15 reg as I’ve got children and need a huge boot. The 520D 2 owners and as you said paying a premium for lower looked after car so the car only did 45k and it was a husband and wife who first had first bought the car i paid 16.7k which around March when the car market was crazy I think for the paint quality and interior quality it was literally brand new. My target was around 13K but with mileage over 80k and a basic spec car I thought I didn’t want any issues and god bless the cars been a dream, it’s always worth paying a little more for the mileage, paint, body and interior quality to be better especially if your like me who gets the car washed every Sunday without fail even in the snow!! Keep up the videos mat and thank you

More great suggestions from Matt, a man with deep insight. I called into your showroom today as I was in the area.
I have to say to all watchers, if you are looking to change your car, this guy has some excellent vehicles on offer, all beautifully presented. For me, the star of the show was your SL 55, simply stunning, sadly not for the moment. Sorry you weren't there Matt, would have been nice to say "hello".

More of these videos please! Even with less practical focus, like best 50 grand sportscar, or your choice of supercar if you had to daily it etc. Always fun to just browse and argue with random parameters like that.

Hi Matt. Love your channel, been watching it for a couple of years now and I think your take on cars is refreshingly different, knowledgeable and to the point. I've driven several of the models that you list (as new company cars ive run the CLS, S350, S90 T8) and they are great executive cruisers. The elephant in the room that you neglected to mention is the Porsche Panamera (sorry i know you despise the looks) I have owned and daily run a 2015 model year for the past 2 years and think its exceptional. A proper Porsche ... premium badge, performance, driveability, build quality and reliability (if its maintained properly) with low running costs for for such a prestigious marque. Mine has 87k on the clock and its as tight as a new car. The 3.0d (300) is a proper second hand bargain for a car that in most cases cost north of £80k when it left the showroom. It should definitely be on your list mate.... sorry but it had to be said

Just bought a 2011 Jaguar XJ Portfolio, heated steering wheel, heated and cooled seats (front and rear) and massage seats in the front. Very smooth ride as well, lovely interior and bluetooth music. Keeping it a year and then might go for a Range Rover if they are more comfortable than the Jag! Cant fault the Jag at all, everything you need, smooth and lots of speed when you need it.

Great addition to the channel, I am amazed at the prices for some of the cars as I am familiar with the running / repair costs.
I bought a 3 year old 728i for 25k back in the noughties with sixty thousand miles on the clock which had a new price of 90k, drove it till it died for another 6 years (160 k), when it died in 2010 it was 100 quid to fill....

Some lovely cars....our issue here in Scotland is that any diesel registered before Sept 1st 2015 can't drive into Glasgow city centre (other cities will follow) without being fined. Thankfully, my A7 just made it by 4 weeks.

A 2015/6 Mercedes CLS 350 is the one I would choose 9 speed box etc premium Plus AMG. I think it’s more stylish than the S class.still looks like a £40, 000 car with a decent private plate on.Thanks for the ideas Matt, ps love your videos and Humour, spot on👍

Definitely liking that LS 600h. (Hopefully Lexus abandons their hideous monster alien grill sooner than later.) Was looking at a 2020 Lexus IS 300 AWD just a couple of days back as a replacement for my current sedan. It looked great from every angle.... except any angle remotely showing off the front of it. BTW, looking forward to the future video where you show off which of these luxury cars you bought. I'm guessing the Audi A8. 😉

My dad has a 2006 Audi A8 3.0tdi which he’s owned since 2009. It has over 200k miles on the clock and it’s been the most reliable car he’s ever had and done so many miles in. Apart from regular servicing and maintenance there’s only been a few repairs, nothing major apart from the air suspension which failed once and that wasn’t cheap..
Apart from that, It’s still going strong, engine runs smooth like butter and still a pleasure to drive..

We had an S90 in stock, 2013, with 196k (ex airport car), serviced every 10k miles. One of the comfiest cars I've ever sat in, it was in stock less than 24 hours. It was some car, wish I could have smoked it a bit longer.

My had a brand new 22 plate S500E for a job he was doing (the Tennis Tournament in London recently). 3.0lt straight 6 Hybrid, full spec in a Dark Green grey interior. Went like stink in absolute comfort and luxury.

Some very nice cars to indulge your fantasies🙂 As a Jag fan I love the XJ the interior is just amazing. Agree the Portfolio spec is the one to go for for the toys, they also did an Autobiography spec although what more luxuries that has I can't imagine! Having said that the Merc S Class looks pretty impressive - decissions, decissions!

That A7 rear end has grown on me. Never liked it at launch, but it's aging well, reminds me of the early 00s Vanquish.

Need more of these Matt, once every week maybe. Save a lot of people a lot of time and for the rest of us including me, it just is fun to look at cars you can't ever afford 😂
