Another good one from her is “He Loves Me.” She does some really cool things with her voice on that track as far as showing her vocal range.

Her album Who is Jill Scott? is flawless from beginning to end. One of the few albums I won’t skip a song on.

The thing about Jill Scott... You gotta watch her sing live. Her albums are good... But the emotion she puts into her live performances is amazing.

You gotta play He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat) for your dad. Jill's range is insane. She goes from R&B to Opera all in one song! It's pure genius and beauty.

As a native Philadelphian I am honored to have seen Jill debut her signing from day one. We knew her as a poet then one night she sang and it’s history from there. Another Philly talent among many. You have to see her live performance. Excellent!

Jill Scott has a her own Universe, she is delightful. I saw her Live in Paris a decade ago and it was amazing. Her vocal range is very interesting. You should listen to the entire album with your dad, it’s a masterclass ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jill Scott and The Roots came up together in Philadelphia. They had a weekly concert called Black Lily where so many up and coming artists would perform. That Philadelphia/ Neo Soul movement produced so many great artists like Musiq Soulchild, Floetry, Kindred the Family Soul and a very young Jazmine Sullivan singing like a grown woman at 12 years old.

Jill Scott is one of my all time favorite artists. Anybody else sing along for the entire duration of the track? 🙋🏾‍♀️ lol

Yaaaassss!!!! Jill is a favorite of mine and YES, she is in the same vein Erykah Badu, The Roots, Anthony Hamilton, etc. They fall into the R&B / NeoSoul genre. You two help restore my faith in the appreciation of good music and that it’s not lost on people now! Love y’all, keep doing what you guys do! ❤🤗

Digable Planets - Cool like Dat. I promise you’ll both love it. 90s east coast hiphop track with a jazzy, funky groove.

Jill Scott was a major factor in the birth of the sub- genre "Neo Soul". Erika Badu, D'Angelo, Angie Stone were also vital elements towards this movement.

This is my jam, y'all. Thank you for covering this particular song.. ❤

I was at a house party in 2003-2004. The vibe was right…the people were amazing and this fucking song came on. I was standing in the kitchen having a conversation when this song came on and the room went quiet. Everyone listened, vibed out, smiled, and when the next song came on, it was back to how the room was. It was amazing to see. That is my favourite memory of this song. Every time I hear it, I’m back to standing next to that refrigerator in that kitchen.

Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, and Musiq Soulchild, (and a few others) ARE the epitome of taking lyrics, poetry, soul, frequencies, and love and wrapping it up into a complete GIFT for our ears and Souls.

I used to play this song in the car while driving long distance with my daughter. She is now 29 years old and she still loves this song. We still sing it together in the car whenever we’re together. We love Jill Scott.

Jill Scott is a master of her craft. Her writing skills. The word play, the way she expressed emotion in each syllable. Each note is a treat. I LOOOOVE me Jill Scott. The singer, the lyricist, the poet, the actor. Her artistry is a whole world of its own.
