Lauryn chose to leave the industry because she said it was full of corrupt and evil people. She did not want to play by its rules anymore. I think most intelligent people know she has been proven right. They dont want a real conscious artist like her so she is not as successful because she wants no parts of that machine. If you are a real fan then you know she made this very clear on her unplugged acoustic album.

I don't think her career failed. People always criticize when you don't chase the fame and fortune as hard as they would if the shoe was on the other foot. As her former makeup artist that went to Rome with her and has the receipts for her “Christmas at The Vatican “ performance, I can attest to the Brother Anthony story!!!! She brought him to Rome with us and was locked up with him preaching and worshiping day and night with him.. she performed a speech infront of children that was distasteful and we were kicked out of the Vatican and had to leave the next day.
