How to install Richelieu / Blum drawer slides

This is my process to install both Richelieu drawer slides and Blum drawer slides.
I spend a bit of time in the beginning showing the notch and hole that has to be drilled in order for these slides to work.
Don't forget the drawer has to be 3/8" smaller than your opening.

Trying to hack the design a smidge: I want my drawer to be quite a bit deeper (and it's okay if it doesn't fully extend). Looking at the specs, it looks like I can just skip the mounting brackets (which would stop the drawer from being longer) and instead use several screws on the side pieces to hold the slide in place?

Great video. I do have a question that is very unclear to me on the Richelieu instructions. What thickness drawer box members do you like to use and how much clearance from the drawer box to the face frame opening. I’ve always used 1/2” thick boxes and provided 1/2” clearance. I’m assuming I need to change my construction method. I’ve just bought these slides for the first time and making the drawers this week.
