California Businesses Consider Leaving State Due To Unreliable Power System

PG&E's power shutoffs have an enormous impact on businesses, both big and small. Business leaders say the unreliability of the power system might force them to leave the state. Devin Fehely reports. (10-25-2019)

Why anyone would ever open a business in California is beyond Me.

There is already a solution. You can buy a generator that uses natural gas to generate power and the cost per KWH is similar to grid cost, sometimes even cheaper for peak hours. These generators actually make sense since the power in California is expensive to begin with. Also these natural gas generators are baseload and can run 24/7, unlike solar and wind.

Why does the media make it sound like everybody is getting their power shut off. I am definitely not pro PG&E, but this sounds like a bashing. I live in the east bay and I haven’t had any power disruptions yet! I used to work in Silicon Valley and all those big tech companies have a back up to their backup for power.

It is unfortunate that it has gotten to his point but 10 years for a solution is definitely not acceptable!
