How to Make a Video in PowerPoint - ppt to video

Learn how to publish your own video using Microsoft PowerPoint with narration, annotations, animations, and timings. As full disclosure, I work at Microsoft as a full-time employee.

In this video, I show how to record a slide show, how to annotate slides, how to add your web cam, and how to publish your video to YouTube.

In this tutorial, I use PowerPoint that comes with Office 365; however, this should also work with all previous versions of PowerPoint, like PowerPoint 2019, PowerPoint 2016, PowerPoint 2013, PowerPoint 2010, PowerPoint 2007, and PowerPoint 2003.

Thanks for this. As a teacher, this really helps with remote teaching now that the world is dealing with the COVID 19 threat.

I've been teaching face-to-face for several years and just finished adding audio to my first PowerPoint lecture. Oh...my...gosh! I can't believe how easy it was. Thank you, Kevin, for putting together this instructional video. You are a huge blessing to all of us educators who are being thrown into the deep end of online teaching. I am definitely going to share your channel with my colleagues.

Thank you. As a college student, this helped me a lot! I am going to use this to do a microbiology PowerPoint! I can not believe how easy it is. Anyone should learn this. Presentations are meant to be fun not stressful!

Thank you so much for this, for making it so simple and clear. I'm using an older version of PowerPoint so in the 'File' tab, instead of export had to use 'share and send' and my video quality only went up to 960x720. Just in case anyone was wondering why they didn't have 'export' as well

Thank you Kevin!!! I have to make an oral presentation for one of my Graduate courses, and this has made my life 10x easier! Literally, the only thing I was stressing out was how I was going to sync my video with my powerpoint!!!

Exactly what I needed! I have to create a video for an interview, even though the job doesn't include making videos. This is the new remote world we're living in. So glad I wondered if PPT could do this and found you. Thanks!

Great instruction, Kevin! Thanks!
Nearly 20 years ago, after given a presentation assignment in a paramilitary agency -- where no one knew how to produce a PPT presentation -- I self-taught and put together a few Powerpoint presentations (starting with '97, then up to 2003). My "masterpiece" was a 146 slide show using all the bells & whistles.. inserting painstakingly timed narration soundbite files.. video files.. music. One click and it auto-transitioned to the end. The catch was that all files had to be in the same folder. This presentation was used for "In-Service Training." However, if another trainer used his own laptop during a session, it didn't always run smoothly. The laptops I used got old and were stored away along with the presentation. Only recently I learned that the presentation can be converted to video!! I resurrected the presentation and attempted to convert. The converter refused to use the sound/video files (wav & mp4) leaving the video silent & missing key videos. IS THERE A WAY??
