Paramount TV -- which produces Reacher and the Time Bandits reboot, among other things -- suddenly shut down, with employees being given very little notice. Paramount is reducing its overall workforce by 15% to get ready for the Skydance merger, and it's going to be a bloodbath.

With Paramount and Warner Bros. both hanging on by their fingertips, Hollywood is going to look VERY different on the other side of this. The Streaming Wars definitely had some casualties.

These streaming platforms were supposed to be an alternative to TV and now that things are looking grim they have became what people hates so now they ARE TV and just as expansive overall.

All of this is because everybody looked at the money Netflix was making and got jealous of that revenue. But they all missed the detail, that Netflix was spending a fortune to make a fortune, and that only worked because that's where people wanted to watch. You cannot just clone Netflix with worse content and expect viewers to magically appear and pay recurring revenue.

The problem is at some point between the 90s and 2000 Hollywood flipped from merit based promotions and went to fail upwards business models.
That means the studios just started to make steadily worse content over time until only sewer content was all that was in the pipeline with occasional good movies or episodes, but nothing the vast majority is just crap.

Only thing worth watching on Paramount+ is Yellowstone and its spin offs and the other Taylor Sheridan projects, he was there only asset. Reacher may not do that well season 3 after all his insane anti conservative and anti Christian woke comments, I mean its not like that shows audience were the woke types, its audience was pretty much 90% of who he insulted.
