Does an MRI Help My Neck Injury Case?

Показать описание
An MRI, or a Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine, is a really strong tool to help doctors understand and explain why you are having neck pain, particularly when you are having numbness and tingling in the upper extremities. But doctors don't run an MRI in every case. They are very important in cases where doctors do order an MRI and it shows that you have a herniated cervical disc. This is a disc that is injured, it's not normal, it's not age related and it's typically caused by a serious accident.
If you've been in a serious accident, it's very important for a doctor to order an MRI so they can diagnose what the problem is and treat you accordingly. An MRI is also important for your lawyer in making it clear to the other side's insurance company of how serious your injury is.
When doctors just run MRIs on every patient that complains of neck pain and they don't have any structural neck issues and the pain is most likely because of age related degeneration, then it may not be that strong of a tool in helping your lawyer get your case settled because it may not offer any significant explanation for what's going on with you.
