MRI is a test that uses a large magnet, radio waves, and a computer to take pictures of the inside of your child’s body. I been a MRI tech for 4 years! If you have high anxiety I have a few tips for you! Bring a friend or family member to come in room with you! Ask if they have music for you to listen while getting scanned, cover your eyes with a wash cloth or ask your doctor for a sedative before you schedule the test. Also ask the tech to give you a count down during the scan. Ask them to talk to you every 3 minutes. This really helps.Remember breath normal. Also don't get contrast unless its absolutely necessary.

I had an MRI last weekend, and this video reduced my anxiety because it helped me know what to expect. I kept my eyes closed the whole time and pretended I was at a Daft Punk concert (because of the noises). I also asked the MRI tech to talk to me between each set of images, and to tell me when we were halfway done. It was over faster than I thought it would be!

I got an MRI when I was 10 and had broken my back (they didn't know it was broken yet lol. They had done an x-ray of my neck (even though we told them it was my back that i hurt) and sent me home. Then they called back saying that they may have seen something on T1 so they did the MRI). It was 1am so I was really tired and they just gave me these warm blankets and I fell right asleep even though it was loud. Didn't bother me one bit. Turns out T1 was fine. T3, T4, T5, and T6 were broken.

Hey I got an MRI in April 15 and it went great the only thing that bothered me was the noise the machine made but you’ll get used to it. To me it depends how long you are in there I was there for 25 minutes then they gave me an injection then 10 more minutes so it depends on you.
