This short video walks us through how Elite Series pro Terry Scroggins rigs and fishes the shaky head system. It's a simple and deadly rig for bass anywhere they swim, but you can overcomplicate the rigging and fish it improperly. Terry shares his favorite jig and plastics combinations, then follows it up with a quick tutorial on how to work the rod to get the most bites.

I’ve got some beefs with this video...one, that’s not a shaky head, that’s just a jig head. The bait keeper on a true shaky head is completely separate from the hook shaft. Two, you can NOT cover a lot of water on a shaky head. That’s the whole point of finesse fishing: it’s targeting specific areas and working things slooow. Want to cover a lot of water? Throw a crankbait or spinnerbait or swim jig. Three, it didn’t show anything about rigging or bait options other than one worm and one craw - but didn’t even show how to rig them. What about a Senko? Ribbon tail worm? Creature bait? Fluke?

Finesse fishing in my book is very light gear. That’s a regular jig head not a shakey head.
