Upgrading my DeWalt drills! Compact and powerful!

I upgraded to the new dcf850 for the impact and got the dcd800 drill driver. Perfect drills for service work?

I understand you completely! I started with the Dewalt Atomic $149 Black Friday set. After researching on YouTube, I’ve returned and upgraded to the $299 DCD805 XR Hammer Drill, Atomic DCF850 Impact Drill kit with a FREE jigsaw ($219 value). I loved the Atomic drill (great size/power) but the XR series just rocks with more rpm’s and power. I even did my own side by side tests! Heavier, yes. After many years with my wonderful (but slightly outdated) Makita 18v, I’m happy with my decision to upgrade to the latest Dewalts. (Added- in addition-the Dewalt 20v jigsaw is EXCELLENT and performs as good as my corded Bosch.

I recently got the DCD800 with powerstack batteries and that combo is amazing. A bit shorter runtime, but the 1.7AH powerstack batteries have the power of 5.0AH AH XR batteries. It's amazing. That combo with the 800 and 850 is excellent. I haven't gotten the 850 yet but will very soon.
That said, my most used drill is the dewalt 12v 5 in 1 driver. It's about 1lb less than the 800 and handles most everything around the house. My screwgun is also a dewalt, the dcf601. It's crazy light and powerful enough.

Nice set brother!! I just bought the cheaper set which is close to the sizes you have!! It’s the max set with the 793 drill and 840 impact they are a beast for what I paid!! Think my set was 169+tax. They have been solid so far. I’m like you I love the 2ah batteries to stay compact!

I'm also addicted to buying tools! I have the dcf850 and the dcd800! I bought one dcf850 and had to have second one. I also have the dcd800 I saw it had to have it also.

Got the dcd999, dcf850, a 6ah flexvolt battery, a 5ah powerstack battery, fast charger, TSTAK box for 530usd here in Australia. The real value comes when you redeem two 5ah powerstack batteries for free also. The two drills nearly cost that on their own as individual skins! Great value

I got the combo that comes with the 805 hammer drill and the 850 impact with 2 4ah batteries for $280 at Home Depot, for $30 more the better drill and the bigger batteries are a no brainer.

Exactly. I got the big flexvolt advantage hammer drill thats great but a beast, i bought that 800 for drilling cabinet frames and alot of small stuff

I was Not a Believer, But after finally trying them, the PowerStack Batteries are the Way to Go ....👍 I also just got the DCD800 Drill and the dcf845 Impact and the 800 is Awesome it's a Monster, but the 845 Impact Not so Much, I was definitely expecting more out of DeWalts XR Impact, I definitely think the 850 has a little more power ....

I have the same impact. I bought the $599 deal during the holidays and upgraded all my tools. If I was you I would keep the large drill for one single thing and that is for mixing. Mixing drills cost a lot of money. I bought my rigid mixing drill for something like $180 dollars. Before that I blew out a couple concrete drills, using them as mixers.

That DCF850 is a win. Went the other way with the drill and got the DCD999 with an XR 6Ah battery. My kit has the Dewalt flexible right angle and straight right angle adapters, a milescraft drill block, set of wera diamond bits (these are great when you encounter soft chinesium metal screws), spyder cobalt drill bit set, dewalt bit set, countersink bit set with a stepdrill bit, and an energizer rechargeable headlamp. Curios what other stuff do you keep in your bag?

Don't have much use for a, "hammer" DRILL. I have the DeWalt 20 volt 1/2" brushless XR series DRILL / DRIVER. Model 791 DCD

Dude Im about ready to give up on the m12 hammer drill. I’ve gone through 3 in 3 years.

Now I carry my black sub compact Makita 18v cause I’m tired of the m12 chuck skipping and grinding. All the m12 drills have the same issue. After a couple of months the chuck just gets all whacked out. It grinds or gets stuck when tightening or when drilling the chuck slips or even grinds out. Milwaukee strong but not made to last man. Considering upgrading to the new gen m12 drill
