lets hope wow doesn't nerf this, like they seem to do all the time. I've been looking to find faster leveling since I haven't played in a.long time and many of my alts are still like level 40-50ish. Gotta unlock the earthen then, guess I better get on the main and do that.

so just to point this out, though it'd probably slow progress.. you can get to pandaria without using the mage tower portal as long as you can get to draenor. you can use the blue campfire on the small pillar island off the north east coast of gorgrond. sit in chair, click campfire, teleport to timeless isle. though since you cant fly in the timeless isle and you'd be under water and dismounted, it would probably kill momentum to have to swim out and up to the surface where you'd ground mount or swim to the flight path and take said flight path to the nearest one in jade forest you have access to. but you *can* do it if you wanted to. lol

Great idea! Wintergrasp was PVP so I skipped it and/or I missed some other areas because I was only 22.5 after finishing Twilight Highlands. Luckily, I'm playing a mage so I bought all the portals and was able to go to Boralus without the quests to fill in a couple levels. (They do cost though so you'll need to send a couple hundred gold from another toon if you want to do it that way).

Name this method: "Explorathon" or some shit. And yeah I could see this becoming a thing. The Earthen race makes is extremely viable to catch on. Couple questions. How beneficial are the treasures in Gorgrond? That used to be a hotspot for leveling chunks. Also, Why Hunter? Could another class be more beneficial? Maybe mage for teleporting and shaving off minutes? Or is the flying around allowing time enough for the hearthstone to always be ready?

Nobody believed me when I said exploring can clock two minute levels all the way to 70 with that racial+warband buff+darkmoon buff.

This is also a math optimization problem. Basically you want to fly over all exploration nodes with the max XP in the shortest time. This is the traveling salesman problem for a subset of nodes. The subset of nodes itself is a math problem: The knapsack problem. Congrats: You got yourself into two combined problems, which are considered hard alone. 🤣

How to tackle this:
Observation 1: You uncover areas by zone or even by continent. This means: You can divide your run into continents. This is good, you already did this.
Observation 2: You can combine zones to optimize your path. There is no need to do this by zone. This is good, you can save time. (Think a stripey pattern with no crossings)
Observation 3: The uncover points are not points, but areas. So throwing a traveling salesman solver at this could yield mixed results. You don't have to travel to the center of the area. Touching would be enough. This is more complicated to model, but it could be possible to touch a few areas, while flying in a straight line. So, kinda good, but could mean manual optimization.

Maybe this could be a math paper. I don't know. 😂

Addendum:
- It is not exacly TSP, as it doesn't need to be a closed loop. You have your hearthstone at the end. This is good, as it lifts restrictions.

I really hope they don't nerf this. It actually feels pretty thematic that the earthen just max out exploring and it's kind of a neat way to use dragon flying in all the previous zones to revisit all of wow. Kind of a world tour of memories and a neat way to max out a new toon.

One thing I see many people get wrong: The portal to pandaria unlocks right after accepting "Heros Call: Jade Forest" (At least it did in Dragonflight)

If you map the exact places you discover areas and optimize movement you will improve your time a lot.
