No coffee, tea, phones, just water. Yet kids have their Stanleys with everything but the kitchen sink in them.

I tell the kiddos at my school when they say its not fair that I already went through all my schooling and graduated. this is my reward 😂

If they are allowed to come to school with Redbulls…. I’m allowed to drink anything besides alcohol. 😂

Oh yes, I had a principal once who said it was unprofessional for teachers to be drinking coffee. She caught you, you could be written up. Horrible!

I’m sorry the kids need to learn that they can’t have everything they want.

I tell the kids when they finish high school, then college, then get a teaching license, then they can have coffee in class!

We aren't supposed to have soda or energy drinks (same rule for the kids). Everyone kinda just ignores the rule though and if admin decides to enforce it we all just put our drink in an opaque cup. I'm not checking kids' cups and they don't check mine. We are all just drinking "water".

And they wonder why schools can't get teachers.

Much of the problem comes from believing children are equal to adults. Or more important than.

I can have coffee, colas, snacks at my desk, judiciously of course, usually do not get much of a lunch break sometimes not at all.

Not allowed to eat or drink anything in front of students except during lunch period, 11:10-11:30. That’s also the only time I have to use the restroom, so emptying wins over eating.

Where am, we're allowed to have our coffee, tea, and whatnot. I finish my coffee in the car though on my 25 minute commute so that it's still hot while I drink it. I have a 24 oz stainless steel bottle that I refill from a stainless steel 64 Oz growler. My students have their own water bottles, some of them have the 40 oz Stanley. Since I'm trying to stay hydrated, there's no reason that they can't try to stay hydrated. Some kids forget to bring a bottle, so I have plastic cups for them. It's going to be hot as heck this week, and we don't have air conditioning. I have them write down each day to bring in a refillable bottle as their homework.

Thankfully, my school allows students to have a water bottle with them, so I have no qualms about mainlining Diet Coke all day.

Mine ask me if I've had my coffee. Lol! I must have a twitch or something!!

"Unfair to the kids..."

You know what is Really unfair: having classroom sizes in the mid to upper 20s and expect us to hand 150-180 with a cheerful attitude year round

I can get not allowing teachers to have coffee in the classroom with their students but banning water is absurd

If a school wants to revoke my tea/coffee privileges, they can find a new teacher.

My Pre-K students bring water bottles every day. In fact I send reminders to parents to send it in because I prefer they do not drink from the water fountain. Have you ever seen a Pre-K student put their mouth on the water fountain? 🤢
