The best tips were to annotate the formula sheet and practice using the calculator functions. I haven't taught AP statistics in a few years but I used to make sure that we used the calculator regularly.

I took basic stats my freshman year, and I'm going to take AP stats my senior year (this fall), so this should help even with my background knowledge.
