That battery inflator will not provide the burst of air necessary to shock loose sediment free of the valve. Rapid/short bursts of air from a compressor with a tank or even a bicycle pump would be more effective but that hardened crystalized buildup may require mechanical/chemical methods.

I'm glad you are helping us because the other whant to screw you up first they going to send a person and that will be 200.00 dollar second a tank for 300.00 dollar and don't forget the tax

Slightly off topic but the best way to drain a water heater in the basement when there's no drain, use an air compressor pressurize that tank from the top nipple

When I do a hot water tank I shut it off of course put the hose on the drain take the relief valve out have a fitting setup for my air compressor works great in this area and the water and some parts of this area leave about 8 inches of sediment in the bottom. And in those areas I removed the factory valve and install a full port valve. And it still doesn't work on all of them with that much sentiment in the bottom. Plum on my friends

Just start draining the water heater with the water still on for about 69 seconds.
