I’m 63. I had a girlfriend who sang really well. She and her sisters sang Bread songs at my wedding. My husband passed away over 3 yrs ago from a brain bleed. We were married for almost 40 years. These songs always bring back a flood of emotions whenever I hear them and I play them often. There is nothing to compare with the songwriters of the 1970’s. Such a wonderful eta.

04/20/23, still so in love with Bread and the '70's music. So damn glad I lived through it and got to grow up on this music.

I feel bad for anyone that didn’t get to live through these years- the am radio music the 8 track tapes the Chevelles doing burn outs and donuts at the stop lights- just an amazing time to be alive

My Mom played this when we were teens.
We didn't love it until we became adults ourselves and especially middle aged adults.
🙏 For my Mom up in heaven.

Why in the world did these guys stop performing? This song--among others by them--are real tear jerkers. Unfortunately, the world doesn't have bands like them around anymore. The insipid music industries of today will never be able to hold a candle to this type of music that came out in the 70's. The lines "..." 'Cause there'll always be an empty room, waiting for you...An open heart waiting heart waiting for you, time is on my side" still tears my heart out everytime. :, (

This is genius art. Sounds so simple but actually quite intricate .

Remember listening to this song on my car radio while sitting on the hood watching the sun set on a Saturday in my small New England town, a lifetime ago..

So many people don't really know James sings accompanys David on this tune, their harmonies were so amazing, James and David were so perfect together. Everyone raves over david vocals but james was essential to breads signature sound listen to make it with you, mother freedom, she's the only one etc, james is critical to these 🎵

In 2005, both Griffin and Botts died from cancer at the age of 61. In August 2009, Knechtel died of a heart attack at the age of 69 leaving Gates and Royer as the only surviving members of Bread. RIP to three members of a beautiful sounding group. I love Gates' The Goodbye GIrl end theme from the film
