I've found the secret origins of Gooigi! Let me tell you about 'the Slime of '89'.

A bizarre sprite in Super Mario World is the first clue that takes us down an insane lore rabbit hole. Why did Luigi have green blood? What does it all mean? It turns out, Nintendo been building an incredible secret narrative about Luigi being an imposter. A story that expands across decades and multiple games. Is Luigi really Luigi? Or is he something more green... something gooey... Gooigi.

A new piece of evidence has come to light. An episode of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show features a SLIME GHOST possessing Luigi! This episode aired A YEAR before the first Gooigi easter egg was placed in Super Mario World. Could this episode have inspired Nintendo employees to begin their secret story about Luigi getting possessed by Gooigi??? It makes sense!

Very interesting that Luigi gets possessed by a gooey green ghost in this episode, 1 year BEFORE he has green blood in Super Mario World. It's almost as if some Nintendo employees watched this and formulated a lil lore plan; started leaving easter eggs...

Honestly major props for getting Ernie for that episode instead of one of the other three. Winston’s overlooked at times, but he was always a solid member of the ghost busters.

I think the CIA put something in the water making the writers make this episode. Which in turn made the goo

This is actually insane. I can’t be certain that you didn’t just generate this whole Mario Super Show episode with AI or use a Time Machine to convince them to make this episode in the past. Both are more believable than the episode actually being real.
Also Ernie Hudson showed up with a shotgun to ghostbust.

Shigeru Miyamoto, in an early 2000s interview with Fatmitsu said that this episode of the super show, in particular was not only his favorite, but actually one of the key inspirations for Luigi's mansion. I cant quite remember the issue number, but its worth mentioning.

hes gotten so good at making these that i genuinely cant tell if this episode of the show is real or fake. it seems real but idk man lump is reall good at editing these things

I just imagine that this version of Gooigi was some sort of "untamed beast" before E. Gadd decided to learn about it and make a more docile version of it. This Gooigi would eventually make usage of Luigi's body for various tasks, including the one of replacing him after he got clapped during an incident in SSBU, and he'd be the one you'd find in Super Mario Galaxy 2 when you try to save Luigi... as Luigi.
