A bizarre sprite in Super Mario World is the first clue that takes us down an insane lore rabbit hole. Why did Luigi have green blood? What does it all mean? It turns out, Nintendo been building an incredible secret narrative about Luigi being an imposter. A story that expands across decades and multiple games. Is Luigi really Luigi? Or is he something more green... something gooey... Gooigi.

I'm actually starting to believe it myself. I'm going to be watching Luigi like a hawk for any goo-like behavior.

Not gonna lie, I wasn’t expecting Nintendo to make a freaking grim reaper take Luigi’s soul out of his body.

So Ik he’s joking, but the reason the Mario world sprite has “green blood” is because to make the sprites, they replaced Mario’s red color with green, and altered it. The only problem was that they forgot about the red on the death sprite so, yea.

if you would also notice, Luigi's character in-game (like Super Mario Galaxy 2) is kind of slippery and slows to a stop after running. is this because of Goo-igi's gooey properties or is this coincidence?
