This is a good example of a cold start death rattle on my 2019 Ford Raptor with 20k miles. This is due to the cam phasers and is under warranty.

Had it on my 2018. They have plastic spacers over the cam phasers which is crazy. They fall apart under the heat and go throughout the engine. The replacement ones are metal as they should have been in the beginning. On another note, if you hear what sounds like the hubs trying to lock into 4 wheel drive under low speed turning, it's the vacuum valve. There's one on the driver and another on the passenger sides. Get them both replaced. The Raptor forums are priceless.

My 2019 Raptor started making this sound at startup at 66k miles. Roughly 10k miles before that I started noticing a decreasing in acceleration in sport mode. Very gradually along with the transmission seem to clunk while changing gears. Yes, the struts were also needing to be rebuilt as the front was making noise at low speeds and the truck was noticeably more floaty than before.

Instead of going through the torture of having the issue fixed (I had an extended 100k mile warranty) and losing confidence I decided to sell the truck to a ford dealer. I actually feel better not having to worry about what's wrong and if it will get fixed properly. This was my 4th Raptor and certainly the nicest one I've had.

How is the truck doing now or did you dump it? Going in for my third set of cam phasers... the motor is flawed. Very sad.

My roush raptor just started doing this noise how much did they charge you to get it fixed? And was it the cam phasers?
