The IMX253 and IMX255 are CMOS image sensors with a 3.45 µm pixel and global shutter function for industrial applications. The CMOS image sensor, which features a global shutter function and a 3.45 μm pixel that is the smallest class in the industry, achieves high picture quality, high resolution, and high-speed imaging without distortion.

The annoying thing is that cameras all used to have global shutter. I never had any rolling shutter issues on my Hi-8 or Mini-DV camcorders. But somehow... they just switched to inferiority. I guess it was more cost effective.

CMOS VS CCD VS GLOBAL SHUTTER should all be compared. CCD keeps the propeller and rotors straight as well.

So I see the difference, but what is the big deal? I’m asking honestly because it seems like such a minor thing unless someone is just being a perfectionist. Which is totally okay too. Lol

Some videographers just hold the cam vertical to get rid of rolling shutter distortion on horizontal movements. Why can't the camera makers just change the reading direction of the sensor? Same tech just different direction.

So which consumer or prosumer cameras that will utilise this Global Shutter? Please make it happen.

rolling shutter is absolutely disgusting

hmm the image quality is a bit less in the upper picture ? is that already the new sensor ? or the old technique where the silicon wafer is turned around
but in sense of motion the picture below is 100 times better
