RED TECH | KOMODO | Global Shutter | 4K

Показать описание
The KOMODO’s new sensor is a power punching piece of technology that brings the value of global shutter to a whole new weight class in image quality.

This RED TECH will cover the comparison of a rolling shutter which scans the sensor line by line from top to bottom. This method creates a slight latency between the part of the image at the top of the sensor and the bottom. On a rolling shutter cinema camera that latency is usually pretty damn short, but it’s still there and under the right conditions it can change the appearance of a shot. #KOMODO

Benefits to Global Shutter
1) Distortion is gone
2) Less artifacts in image
3) Strobing can be captured cleanly

I still have my BMD from 2012 with global shutter.

This is great. My Motion Mount has problems all of the time with the different modes including global shutter. It wild how that mount is about half the price of this whole camera. I would love to see some Komodo autofocus tests as well.

there's a lot of cameras with rolling shutter with massive lack of dynamic range out there lol, its amazing how you guys came out with a global shutter sensor and still flexing on dynamic range on this lil guy, I love it!

some of the reviews says it has only 13 to 14 stops of dynamic range . Could you explain this in detail on another video please .

IRONIC ! the rolling shutter of the welding looks more real to my eyes than the global shutter registration

to be honest, the example at 1:47 makes rolling shutter look more intersting.

this is a nice camera. I'm just confirming my own bias by watching damnit. Komodo on the mind.

I use a Hasselblad H3D to deal with flashsync issues. I the KOMODO could sync to flash for still photography, i would jump innmediately! Do you have plans to make it happen? It would be the perfect location camera for fashion and lifestyle!!! Please RED!!!!

Would this have any effect on flickering lights in higher frame rates?

Global shutter? Just wait for a Universal shutter! And even more powerful the Muliti-Universal Shutter, which can essentially take perfect pictures in multiple universes!

Wished BlackMagic 6k had this, but I seen so many sample videos of BMPCC 6k on Youtube and still can't find one video that looks as good as the Komodo. They look nice, they get close, but never better. They look either too sharp, too digital... even throwing black mist filter it feels washed out and takes away quality. Of course for the price is not bad, but it's like you can't get serious with it.. also feels like you need to do extra work just to make it look nice, while on Komodo you don't have to add black mist filters, worry about how you film because of the global shutter Komodo has, ect... I mean, if you want to get serious with film then it's a no-brainer. The only thing is that it's too expensive for someone trying to get started in that field, and the cards it uses are also so expensive... with those big files it feels like one needs to have at least 1TB ready which can cost you another grand plus a good card reader. Wish they can just include at least a 512 card for that price to get started that way one can just put that money towards a decent affordable lens. I don't want to spend so much on a cam, but after watching hundreds of video on BMPCC and comparing them I just lost interest on Blackmagic lol. I feel like I will regret it after I get it. The Mac Mini M1 is also making me get it since I can see it handle these big files easily. Big game changer.
