If there was a pro edition with a one time fee I’d get Parallels without question. I can’t deal with subscriptions at all

Just bought Parallels 18 (last used 16), and Fallout New Vegas runs like a charm! Installing one of the major bug fix mods was incredibly straightforward too. My GOG games ran great on 16, but Fallout never did as well on Steam (was quite stuttery) so I’m happy that seems to have been fixed now.

I'd pay for a subscription for this in a hearbeat, as it's without doubt the best virtualisation software on a mac, but even before the price rise, it was already way too expensive. I bet if they halved the price instead of increasing it, they make loads more sales, and probably get a much better return. Whilst they keep putting the price up, they'll just turn more people away. With Fusion having a free version, they're seriously narrowing their market with their pricing model.

I’d like to upgrade but 69 euros for the upgrade is just too steep of a price. The subscription model is even more expensive, it doesn’t make any sense. I’m for supporting software developers but I just don’t see how I can justify it. Parallel 17 is more than good enough for me.

Not seeing much difference w/ Parallels 18 in Fallout 4; still have to run the game at 1024x640 Low settings. And despite the low setting it still stutters fairly often. Definitely playable though.

Seems like Windows 11 ARM is still buggy for me. Any game that uses DirectX always has audio, runtime, and “msvcp” error codes during launch. I’ve tried reinstalling the drivers, but nothing has worked. dxdiag tool says there are no issues either. Anyone else having this problem? Anyway to revert to Windows 10 with parallels 18?

Thx for the video. I am thinking of buying a 1 time option and will use your llink if I do so. I am wondering if you could also make a review for the Parallels Toolbox. I am new to Mac and I see that the Toolbox has some very nice features but I am not sure if it is just a gimmick that I already have access to or really good peace of software. Does Parallels let you install on more than one computer with your licence? Fusion always let you install it on as many of your own computer. Also Fusion doesn't require a stupid annual "subscription."

Seeing some wonderful improvements, particularly in graphics glitches. I play Star Wars galaxies, on one of the private servers. For the first time it runs flawlessly. So happy with it.

I would be interested in knowing the effect on battery life of running games using various modalities. I have noticed that Intel games running through Rosetta (Kerbal), the battery life on my 14" MBP is around 3-4 hours. I don't know about games that are ARM native as none of the games I play are but I would imagine the games running through a VM would ruin battery life even further.
