You are the first person that I've watched that has given a clear explanation of why one would use parrallel nodes rather than serial ones. Thank you so much!

You're a godsend to us. Your tutorials are absolute gold dust and your delivery of them is brilliant. Thank you, mate. Super appreciate it all.

This might be the best description of parallel nodes I've ever seen. So much better than mine lol. Great job my friend!

THE BEST description so far on youtube! Petty the adverts spoil the workflow!

Nothing is free in this world! Then I found this. Thank you!

Truly Amazing. That's why I continuously look over different explanations of the same thing... what others lacks, some explains brilliantly. This video is gold. A masterclass. Yet so simple, others simply are not meant to be teachers. I'm also in a position to teach other stuff and I'M ALWAYS GOING IN THE SMALLEST TINY DETAILS AND ALWAYS EXPLAIN WHY. I'm so happy I've seen this first before wasting my time with other "tutorials". This is unfairly so underrated.

I watched two of your videos and it tooks me 30 minutes. Now I graded again my footage that I was working on for two days and it tooks me 10 minutes to make my original grade looks like a joke. Thank you Darren, you are a legend.

Would love to see layer nodes included in this - when to use them instead of Parallel.

Explained brilliantly. First time I understand parallel nodes. Thank you!!

The difference between a good teacher and a great teacher. I'm new to Resolve and I was avoiding parallel nodes because it seemed confusing. Thanks for this exceptional explanation.

This is the best tutorials I've ever seen about Resolve. The length is only 12 minutes but you covered it all, absolutely masterclass. Not even you answer the question about parallel node, you also gave a simple example with the grey solid, 11/10

Darren man, you can explain things in such a way that once a mechanism is understood it's almost impossible to forget it! I'm actually standing at my desk coloring some fashion clips and in the meantime listening to you as a podcast !! Great, just great. THANKS A LOT FOR SHARING!

This is my second comment on this. Your ending example (using the gray screen) drove me to prove, at least for myself, that it is not the nodes that are being equally mixed, but the changes to nodes that are being equally mixed. The incoming RGB becomes ground zero for a parallel tree. An adjustment in one area of a frame on one node becomes the output if that area has not been changed on another node in the same parallel tree, i.e. changes to one area of a frame in two or more nodes results in the effects of those changes being mixed together, but areas changed in only one node become the output. So if you make a primary grade to one node in a parallel tree (as you did your first example), then any secondary grade you make in the other nodes in that tree will be mixed with the primary grade since the primary grade moved the incoming RGB off of ground zero for the whole frame. (If no primary grades have been made in a tree, and if no secondary grades overlap, then the only reason a parallel tree might be preferred over serial nodes would be for organizational purposes, in addition to, or in place of, node nesting. True or False?)

It seems to me that a starting point for understanding parallel nodes would be too to play with overlapping secondary exposures before moving on to overlapping colors in a parallel node tree that contains no primary adjustments.
