Reminds me of the time I wa about 10 years old in the store with an older sister, and a man dropped a wad of cash in the bodega store. I told him he dropped it and he offered to buy me anything I wanted. I declined. On his way out he shoved a bunch of money in my hand and quickly walked out. I was so happy and bought a lot of goodies. It's so nice when honesty is rewarded.

The boy's honesty paid off, a lesson well-learned at a young age. Integrity wins.

My husband recently dropped his wallet in a parking lot... It took him about an hour to realize he didn't have it and ran back to the store to find someone had turned it in and even left the cash in the wallet. I think the vast majority of people actually are good it's just that we hear only about the bad people.

There are so many real acts of kindness and honesty in the world. We don't need fake ones.

This reminds me of the most touching experience I ever had:

When I was 8 years old I went by myself to a baseball card convention. You see, I had just gotten two cards I was SO proud of for Christmas, and I wanted to show them off & talk about them.

Two older kids asked me to see my cards, and one of them distracted me while the other one stole my best cards (including the two new ones.)

I was crestfallen. Silently tears just poured from my face. I sat there, defeated, a huge gaping hole in my chest.

Then, an older black guy wearing a janitors outfit came-up to me, asked me what happened, and subsequently tried to give me this case of cards.

I was being a brat though, and I wouldn't take them. After all, they weren't my cards. He gripped my wrist, firmly, but with kindness, and said, "Young man, take these cards and protect them. You don't have to look at them now, but just take them."
So, I did. Shamefully, I didn't even say thank you.

I looked at those cards, hours later, and I couldn't believe it...
He had given me around 30 Bo Jackson rookie cards.

EDIT: He was the only black dude in that place, and a janitor. And, yet, he was the ONLY ONE who even remotely gave a crap that a child was just robbed.
I realized, at that moment, that job title & skin color don't determine a persons value. Instead, what matters is their character & heart.

I would do the same thing I did with the IPhone 5 my son stole from another child. I told him to call our carrier and give them the IMEI number from the phone and find out who it belongs to. Instead he reset it back to factory settings. I took it from him. And did what I told him to do. ATT had the mother contact me. I returned her son’s only Christmas present that year. And she gave me a reward I didn’t want. She asked me to not open it until I got home. It was $50 in cash. Mind you this was about 2013
My son tries to claim half the reward. I told him. The reward could’ve all been yours if you would’ve simply been honest.

This reminds me of a time I found a wallet in a parking lot when I was about 12. 2 hundred dollars in the wallet.
True story an I'll never forget it.
Unfortunately I was raised in the projects, dirt poor.
That 200 something bucks, really helped us out. I'll keep it real.

"Чем беднее, тем честнее. Чем богаче, тем жаднее." Мальчик ещё малой, а уже знает, что такое честь и порядочность. А самому ведь тоже не сладко по жизни. К чему катится мир....

it's always hard to tell if these are staged or not... you see all kinds of videos like this... they resemble acts of kindness and it's rewards but are they real?
