reconnecting with prior military (especially if you aren't military) is insanely difficult. especially if you went to school before or even during the myspace era when everyone switched to facebook and back when ISP's didn't let you carry your email address to the next ISP, etc.. If you didn't all play the same MMO together and have a way to leave notes there, it was almost impossible. Basically I had to have friends that were in the military look up my other military friend's contact info to keep connected and hope they checked that email. It was a real challenge there for a good 10 years, even in the early 00's.

Going to facetime my best friend right now. We were best friends from highschool ROTC, and college ROTC right now. He's an XO at Drum, and I'm PL about to XO at an FSC. We haven't been able to see or call since we've both left honestly. We both also enjoy the loneliness of officer life and not being able to interact with other mid 20 year olds bc of professional boundaries-- Thanks for this, man. Hope you get the same for you.
