Abstract:
For our opening session we will have a brief introduction to the Hidden Epidemics research network followed by two talks exploring how surveillance systems can come to obfuscate large burdens of disease.
Dr Freya Jephcott will present the case study of facility-based surveillance systems for emerging infectious disease in Ghana. Dr Charlotte Hammer will talk about her experiences with shifts in surveillance and response from other infectious diseases to COVID-19 in 2020.
