Miter Saw Station - Stop Block & Optimizations (part 3/3)

Details! ▼

This miter saw station is designed to fit on an existing workbench. The upper units could easily be scaled and be used as base units as well if you don't have a workbench to build it off of.

Each unit is 3' wide and can be added or subtracted depending on how much room you want to the left and right of your miter saw.The drawers are made to be fully interchangeable in 3 sizes (small, medium, large) as well as a work station drawer.

With the set-up I chose, I can cut 7' to the left of the saw and 4 feet to the right of the saw using the stop block & ruler system. The saw unit fits my 12" sliding compound miter saw.

I really like the ideas you come up with. I've seen a lot of Miter station's, but nothing so complete. Good work. I enjoy watching your posts.

I always pick up a couple of tricks from your videos. Marathon-ing my way through. Great great videos.

The use of acrylic sheet to build the pointer for your stop block is WAAAY cool. I have been scratching my head on how to do something similar for my table saw crosscut sled, as the Kreg type stops are too flexible for my taste.

Just subbed your channel. Keep up the good work

Love this build!! I'm not a big fan of miter saws but if I ever get one my station will resemble this.

After all that other work, I liked the pencil holder as a finishing touch!

Nice work. If I were ever going to allocate that much space to a miter saw, I'd do something like this. It's a very efficient use of space, given that it supports such long pieces. And it solves the dust problem, as much as it can be solved.

The foam is a bit too organized for me, though. I couldn't sleep if I didn't hear echo of the tools rattling around in the drawers as I halfheartedly slammed them shut.
