An important correction: ALL Orcas are part of the Dolphin family, but all Dolphins are Whales. So technically an Orca is both a Whale AND a Dolphin!

It's heartbreaking to see Kiska slamming her head against the wall. That's how Hugo of the Miami Seaquarium chose to check himself out, leaving Tokitae as their last surviving Orca. Her current conditions are just as heartbreaking.

To keep this majestic predator captive in a tiny pool while forcing them to do stupid tricks is pure evil.

Even marine mammals respect their grandmas. Granny's are really the best even as orcas ❤️

Well done. One of the best short documentaries on orcas I have watched.

Orcas are crazy smart.

We were only close to them for about 20 minutes in WA State back in 2010.

In that 20 minutes, they got my Mom's bank account information and convinced her to transfer ½ her life savings to their pod. She was positive that one of the Orcas was a distantly related Pacific Ocean Prince and had been trying to get his massive inheritance to her for a while. It was just caught up in escrow and customs, and if she just paid the transaction fees she could free up her inheritance.

Crazy smart, and devious.

What I find really cool about orca evolution is that their ancestors came from land. Surviving on land is a very hard evolutionary pressure compared to water. It's almost as if the evolutionary traits that they picked up on land gave them the ability to become absolutely dominant in the oceans. For eg., where sharks will hunt and live alone, orcas coordinate in pods and have a learned culture.

Ha, I think the only reason they haven't attacked us humans yet is because they don't know we have livers.

Human: Orca comsume livers out of their shark prey, remove it with surgical precision.
Orca: Human consume sharks's fin.

I become sad for the Orca at the end of the video... I am heartbroken they dont deserve to be in captivity! The Orca crying breaks my heart.

I absolutely love orcas. They are my favorite of all God's wild creatures. I pray that we will one day learn to communicate directly with them.
