I live in the midwest. I've known and seen farmers that are multi, multi millionaires and wear dirty overalls everyday, go to the same cafe and order the same thing everyday. They have newer trucks but they are always dirty and sometimes have dents in them. There main thing for them I've noticed is having nice farm equipment is whats important to them. Most live in a nice home but nothing real fancy. Their just regular people. To me, money is time. It gives you time to do what you want instead of having to spend the time working. Thats rich!

I learned at a very young age that if you're rich you don't need to show it off. In fact it's those who live paycheck to paycheck are posers by going into debt by buying high end luxury items. I've known very rich people who drove around in junk cars because they don't want to be a target, and they know that cars depreciate a lot, especially luxury cars. In the end, both the junker and a Bentley will get you to your destination.

There is a passage of scripture in the Bible that states:

7 Some who are poor pretend to be rich; others who are rich pretend to be poor.
8 The rich can pay a ransom for their lives, but the poor won’t even get threatened (Proverbs 13:7-8, NLT).

In short, if a poor man who "looks" rich gets kidnapped, he wouldn't be able to pay his ransom. On the other hand, if a rich man "looks" poor, he won't even get noticed enough to be kidnapped, even though he can easily pay the ransom. This is great wisdom!💯

You don't want to look especially frugal. What you want to do is blend in. The things that should stand out are your charisma and intellect. When I lived in a ski resort known for its wealth, I noticed the official billionaire outfit would just be jeans, a flannel, some nice hiking boots, and a Patagonia or North Face vest. When we saw someone tacky in a fur coat/bejeweled cowboy hat walking down the street, everyone would snicker and point. We just KNEW that they were fake rich.

I'm an electrician at an assembly plant in Detroit. Every day I pull in the parking lot and see all the shiny cars and trucks, then I park my 2008 Caliber. Guys tried to give me crap about it. I told them guess what??? Ain't nobody looking at me. Who the hell wants a 2008 Caliber??? In Detroit if you're driving a Charger, Challenger, Ram, Durango, or Grand Cherokee, someone around town wants that thing stripped down.

I’m a tradesperson. I wear work pants, steel caps and a T-shirt most of the time. I rarely get ripped off. I know how to fix almost anything, am resourceful and can and look like I can solve my own problems. When I wear my more dressed up “fly” out of work clothes, that’s when people try it on. “This college boy wouldn’t know how or know how much this should cost to repair”
