Mao starved and murdered 45, 000, 000 people. Chinese history class calls the period when this occurred "The Great Leap Forward". Evil, suffering and malevolence is globally inescapable. Nowhere is perfect, but don't forget that the sovereignty of the individual is paramount if a society will ever succeed in the long run. Capitalism has lifted more people out of abject poverty than any other economic system. There are five socialist countries left, and the only one that is currently successful has adopted a quasi-capitalist economic system.

That being said, I am happy for the success that some of the Chinese people have found in the current expanding of their freedoms. 恭喜! 祝好运!
