Javier lost all respect in RDR for me the moment he cursed johns family. But seeing him in rdr2 so different and nice just broke my heart.

Sean was always the best. He was funny. He was sweet. And we all know he would've stood up against Dutch. I miss him :(

I think Javier was the only gang member that truly broke my heart. He was so (seemingly) sincere and dedicated to the gang and I returned that whenever I could, but despite everything, even knowing the next game’s plot, it still killed a part of me that he couldn’t be suaded to my side.

Javier was so despicable in RDR, then he becomes one of the gang members I, the player, felt closest to in most of RDR 2, then I absolutely hated him by the story's end. That's how you write great characters.

Honestly, it's still really sad Javier didn't have Arthur's back in the end. They had rode together for years, went fishing together, saved John, and were a terrific duo on robberies. Javier is the only gang member outside of Charles you do two companion missions with I believe and he & Arthur even confide in each other at different points in the story. Javier's cool, calm, and collected presence really balanced the gang well. But he was easily manipulated, impressionable, & not a free thinker. Javier deserved to be punched for this, and in the end he was stooge who was blinded by Dutch & Micah's bs. That's what makes this all the more tragic.

I will never forgive Rockstar for not letting you punch Javier, Bill and Micah at various points. They made a big shot of others throwing their weight around like Javier, Bill, Charles, Sean and Hosea. But Arthur, who even with TB was still the toughest mutha in the gang (yes he even beats out Charles Im sorry) doesnt so much as get to push anyone in camp to the floor.

When Bill and Javier start judging Arthur it really pissed me off. Theyve both been there long enough to know Arthurs been with the gang around 20 years.

Wish Charles was on the mountain with Arthur so he could of tossed Micah off it like jazz from fresh prince

At 1:06 you can hear John from his tent say "hi Javier" and javier just stares at him and keeps walking by without saying a word back to john.

that "Arthur, this is a private conversation" is probably the most respectful Micah gets to sound in the whole game

Unfortunately he’s blinded not knowing any better and you can’t blame Javier for that. After all, he followed Dutch because he saved his life and never pointed his revolver at Arthur and John at the end because they were still family, despite talking to Micah. I see it as a ignorance rather than a betrayal on Javiers part.

Micah literally told Javier to go back to Mexico (Javier proceeded to absolutely decimate his jaw), and like 15 days later there chillin making devious plans

The funny thing is that when I played RDR2, it was years after I played RDR1. So I forgot Javier's name, and thought Javier in RDR2 was a completely different character. I loved the dude. And when he betrayed Arthur and sided with Dutch and Micah, it was quite the shock.

My forgetfulness really improved my enjoyment of the game, to be honest.
