What's crazy is a lot of people that were bullied usually surpass the ones doing the bullying. That karma catches up at some point or another.

Some really rude comments here; you guys missed the whole point.
The boy wanted to support the university, but did not have a legit tee shirt. He innocently created his own, and proudly wore it to school. It was then that he was bullied and teased. UT heard about this little superfan and wanted to give some love back.
The rest is history.

It was probably a huge bargain for the university. Selling 100, 000 shirts at (idk how much they went for but knowing how much shirts are at my university) $30. That’s profit of $3million - whatever expense of making and storing the shirts which can’t be more than $15, 000. Then a full four year scholarship for 1 person, how many years into the future? = $100, 000 max

Some of you don’t know what it costs to go to a 4 year college, or are thinking about how much it will be by the time this kid goes. Also, they gave him something his parents or relatives can’t take advantage of or take for themselves, it’s his alone to look forward to and aspire to. That’s a great gift when they could have just shit out a tweet saying they liked the shirt.

Now that’s class. If they gave him money then that would definitely go to his parents but with a 4 year scholarship. Things would be easier for him. He wouldn’t have to worry about student loans and it can give him the opportunity to choose a better life for himself
