2:06 You restored 120GB in 20 hours, so 6GB an hour. But at the bottom of the screen, you mentioned that 10GB took you 15 minutes. I don't understand

I'm considering purchasing backblaze but before I start, would like to know if the initial backup needs to run continuously uninterrupted. Can anyone help me with this query?

also good and free alternative is a combination of:
- free file sync (for syncing and stuff)
- google drive (cloud storage)
- cryptomator (free encryption)

0:36 yeah, so THAT'S the catch. THAT is why something like Dropbox or Google Drive is more expensive. You can upload stuff to them and then delete it off your computer. Backblaze is just a copy of your computer. That's why it can be unlimited for so cheap. Makes sense. 

As with everything in this world, there isn't always a "catch", but there is 100% always a reason. Still a dope service but i want cloud storage

I have tried Backblaze, I'm not happy with many things such as the need to reconnect all external drives every 30 days. The recovery process is terrible. No good for large files, on mac requires complicated upload process. I like the price but I would not recommend.

well upload is rather slow. I have 280Mbit/s (yeah I know, unbelievably awesome rate) normally, but in backblaze I can only get out 10 Mbit/s with a couple of threads and of course the faster backup slider.

Backblaze’s business model is to not invest enough developer and support resources in fixing all the bugs in their backup software. When a user runs into bugs during a restore and finds their files are missing Backblaze just offers them a refund. It’s like buying fire insurance for your home and your insurance company offers to refund your insurance premiums after your house burns down instead of paying to rebuild your house. The insurance company makes money from all their customers whose houses don’t burn down. Not worth the hassle.
