I'm soon to begin building a BD-4C, so I'm very interested in the 195T, especially since you recently posted a video showing your development of a firewall forward installation for the aircraft. However, if you were to introduce something in the 220-260hp range by the time I'm ready for my engine, I would most certainly be interested. Thanks for the video!

You bring up a point that really concerned me when I used to fly behind an older Lycoming. Being primarily a weekend flyer of approx 50-75 hrs/year, I felt my plane sat way too much! I was always concerned about internal corrosion, and now living in Florida, my concern had grown even more. I am hoping with the technology you mention with the car engines, that maybe I can feel more at ease being a weekend flyer.

Honda started out as a piston ring engineer. He was fanatical about the quality of internal components. I have reservations about turbos, however.

I like the fact that your thinking outside of the box! Secondly it’s obvious you care and worry about safety redundancy and your always upgrading! And when something isn’t right you say something!!!!

do you have any interest in adding the 2.0L turbo engine used in the honda accord 2.0t and honda civic type r with 252hp and 305hp peak respectively?

Hi Jan, great vid, long, but full of sensible things pertaining to choosing Honda and retrofitting to aircraft. Are these newer engines similar to the k20/24 designs? VVTC Actuator issues of 2008/09 rings a bell to me. I haven’t worked on any newer engines, we never get them in, or dealer warranty.

I guess things only get better and better with you folks... I’m still aways from starting my Super Duty build. But you folks are still my first choice! Our RAA chapter built a Cruzer with a rebuilt o-200. 70 year old engine design pulling a 2016 new airframe! Where is the logic in that? Inherited cooling issues, oil, baffles, magnetos, carb heat, cabin heat off exhaust, tractor starter, oil leaks, list goes on.

The more research performed in reference to the power-plants offered by Viking Aircraft Engines, the more utilizing one for our hybrid electric EDFJ concept, makes sense.

I would really like to see the numbers with one of these in an RV 7/9.... I was looking forward to putting one of the 130hp engines in a CH650... however the more I think about it I want the speed!!! so that put the breaks on the 650 and opened up Vans...

Your website states the 150 is a great choice for the Rans S-21. Would you suggest a 150 is better than a 195 Turbo for the S-21? Im looking to get the performance specs that Rans states the Titan XIO-340 achieves with 180hp, but with a Viking engine. Do you think the 195T is the best bet if that is my goal?

Thanks for all the content on these engines. Keep it coming!

Those engines tuned are capable of 500 to 1300 hp, what hp will your gear box hold for a off the wall bush plane?

Sure would be cool if there was a Honda/Toyota v6 option about 300hp for the bearhawk 5....

Can this engine be used as a substitute for a Lycoming IO-360 in an experimental helicopter? I'm thinking about building a Safari helicopter in the future.

I always thought it would be cool to put/build a CVT to lower engine cruising speed.
