I have several hard cases and the inside form fitting space is a hassle and a waste so I like your idea. Wish Milwaukee would just use foam rubber like everyone else. I had thought of cutting away the plastic, but was hesitant until you now did it. Going to now try it as I'm always swapping around tools in all my cases as I get more stuff.

Update: I did it, but used my multi-tool saw blade instead of a razor blade, more control and it just sliced the plastic easily. I cut away enough of the inside of the case to insert a rather large box of drill bits along with my SDS drill in the case. I also added a hold-down strap since it in the case top and didn't want it to fall down when opened. Used a piece of bike tire inner tubing as a bungee tie screwed to the case top in two places. All very easy.

I normally don't carry my charger in my case, that bit set also lays nicely in the space where the charger would go.

Great idea! Could be cut out a little easier with the M12 or M18 multi-tool.

Good idea. You can also completely remove the molded plastic from top and bottom to fully customize the case with foam

Good idea. It would probably be even easier to cut it out with the m12 dremel with a sabrecut bit.
However I do not use most of the stock cases for my m12 and m18 tools as I have so many of them that these cases would be numbering in the dozens. I have them mostly all in one large chest with storage above in a removable top tray for some bits, blades and batteries. The regular drive and drill bits cases go in my large tool bag with the basic drill and driver set just placed inside since they are the tools used most often.

Great Idea. I will try and see if i can do that with my m12 version. If not I am planning on getting the m18 version soon. Maybe try for blades in the sawzall case too?

good video brother. listen as well for the 1/2 inch impact gun 18v I used a case I had for a m12 drill. couple cuts and now have a durable small case for my tool

The milwaukee cases SUCK. Why do they always have so much dead space, but dead space where nothing extra fits?!?! Sawzall case wont fit blades, drill case wont fit bits. ridiculous.
