Sen. John McCain will be laid to rest next to his Naval Academy classmate Charles Larson, a naval officer who became a four-star admiral. Larson's family told CNN how the pair decided they would be buried next to one another.

Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president or any other public official, save exactly to the degree in which he himself stands by the country. It is patriotic to support him insofar as he efficiently serves the country. It is unpatriotic not to oppose him to the exact extent that by inefficiency or otherwise he fails in his duty to stand by the country. In either event, it is unpatriotic not to tell the truth, whether about the president or anyone else.

Every time I remember McCain and I see his picture and makes me think this man should have been our president. He always acted and sounded like a president, so distinguished, intelligent and heartfelt, such class, so unlike what we're stuck with right now!

Senator McCain was dearly loved by more than just his own party. There are NO lines across the aisle, where his soul is at Peace and at Rest.
I am a registered Dem, but I admired Senator McCain. We will never know what kind of a President he would have made, but we DO KNOW he will go down in American History as one of the greatest Hero's of ALL TIME. I will think of you this Christmas when we sing Silent Night, your favorite Christmas hymn. RIP ~ Senator John McCain., You lived a life that showed how much you loved your Country. You walked the walk and not just talked the talk. HONOR, COURAGE, COUNTRY. COUNTRY OVER PARTY. You voted you last vote with your conscience, saving thousands of lives. THANK YOU!

As a Liberal, just so it's noted. John McCain was a true Patriot. Love of Country, love of family, and love of friends, whom he had a lot of. He held honor and integrity highly. I did not often agree with his politics, but you gotta give to the guy - he was true. Willing to work with "the other side" to get things done. Willing to set Country over Party to do the right thing. He was true to his convictions. I don't see anyone in his Party (and not many Democrats, for that matter) doing anything even close anymore. He was an icon, and should be honored - regardless of political view.
