Any guy that gets over a hundred demerits, graduates in the lowest 1% (out of 899) in his class in the naval academy and still ends up a pilot is my hero. Add to that the crashing four planes and not getting kicked out? He is a Saint!

that clip above, is perhaps the McCain what I remember the most, that is a senior politician, who still has a sense of humour particularly during his own situation and the current madness of the country at this time, and still able to have a laugh with others....that  is what  I will take away and remember :P

45 must feel so bitterly jealous of McCain. Like Nixon with Kennedy, Tru.p with McCain.

These people need term limits.
They enter the swamp and stay until they float to shore.

The man stayed for 3 more years of torture because he wouldn't leave capture until ALL of his men were free. He had courage in that moment that none of Trump's voters would demonstrate in their entire lives.

2008, Pres Obama and Sen Mccain were civil & polite to each other. Not going to see that again.

not only was he a hero for being captured, but he was a super hero because, as a high value captive, being the son of an admiral and the grandson of an admiral, he qualified for an early release in a prisoner swap. but being the hero that he was, he refused the opportunity for early release, from a north vietnamese prison. now just think about that for a minute, if the north vietnamese decided to swap mccain, for one or more of their own people held by the americans, do you really think they would need, or even seek mccain's permission? had the north vietnamese decided to swap mccain, they would have marched into his cell, grabbed him up by the scruff of the neck, and frog marched him to the exchange point, period. the idea that mccain had any say in it whatsoever, is absurd on the face of it. yet all this time, we are told this is what happened, and expected to accept it as gospel.

What an opportunity America lost with not electing John McCain as President in lieu of George W. Bush. Politics is dirty and that is what happened to Senator McCain. Pity, real pity.
