When I embarked on this farming journey one-year ago, I knew none of this information... and couldn't find the answers anywhere online either. Now equipped with more knowledge than I ever imagined about farming, starting farms, first generation farming, and land loans, I consider it an honor to come on here and break it all down for you.

Hey thanks for the video! My wife and I are Mennonite, I work for an Amish guy where we manufacture metal roofing and trims plus we have a lumber yard. I can get all those materials at cost (my boss is awesome!). My question is, WHAT AM I WAITING FOR! we have a nice place on two acres and we grow mums and high tunnel tomatoes, but we would love to grow and expand. I'm ready to get off my duff and get this ball rolling! Thanks for lighting a fire under my feet 😄.

I pushed for the "Right to Farm" law here in Saugerties 20 years ago. I saw with the influx of city dwellers moving here and little by little complaining about farm sights, sounds and smells that it will be one more hurdle as a farmer to deal with. So we have that and glad of it. I would guess the town you are in has that, many rural towns do up your way. Straight furrows young lady!❤ thats farmer slang for good luck. Always, farmer john

I love what your teaching homesteading, i bought recreational unorganized land at $1000 an acre and no building codes to build Greenhouse Barns to grow food and feed animals in Winter without buying feed with a fodder aquaponic system.

It makes me appreciate my danish ancestors a lot knowing what they went through but with primitive tools, no money, and 12 kids to run a farm that had no right succeeding but it did and them wondering if they would ever be remembered 150 yrs later… I do. Everyday I do.

I’m so happy I stumbled to this video. Thank you, for sharing how you financed your homesteading. I have never heard of Farm credit before until this video. My daughter wanted to purchase a home with 5 acres of land for homesteading. We were about closing the house in two days before the California fire started and the fire areas was couple of miles away from the property, we had to back out of the closing of the house.
