Veria is located in Macedonia, built on the foothills of Mount Vermio, 73 km from Thessaloniki. The village is famous for its traditional architecture and the numerous churches. The Tripotamos river flows through the town where visitors can walk on the bridges and the riverside in a beautiful green landscape with many springs.
There are many public fountains with cold water flowing all the time. The ski resort of Seli located 24 km from Veria and every summer the four-day Festival of Aliakmona held next to the dam of the river with camp facilities, many concerts, sport activities, attracting many visitors.
