I like how D1 and warframe have that “hey you, you’re finally awake” energy. No idea what’s going on and straight to “so anyways, I started blasting”
Then sudden D2 and warframe got that glow up

Ah, if only the Sacrifice was indicative of the quality of the whole of Warframe's lore.

The sheer cosmic horror at the end of New war was so perfect, new war wasn't everything I expected bit it was a really good story and lore dump

Both games have amazing lore I don’t understand why the dweebs in the comments are shitting on destiny like the lore is trash .

2024.01.02 Edit: What the hell happened here? Also I've lost the plot on both games so this opinion is kinda useless.

Unpopular opinion: they're both good.

I think both have amazing lore for their respective universes. We don’t need to compare them like this. Both can coexist.

After playing the 2 games and seeing their lore all I gotta say is this:

Destiny lore was lacking in the first game due to most of it being on an external area and you still had to unlock tidbits of it, and the lore wasn't super great up until Destiny 2 started to get on track. Nowadays the lore is actually quite simple to follow through, seems as if they finally got their footing and now have a set track to follow. My only issue though is that this seasonal system, plus the vaulting of content has made it difficult for new players to even understand what is going on and what has lead to the current events of the story, not being able to experience that themselves and instead having to resort to external sources such as wikis, forums and YouTube to understand what is going on, who's who, who's doing what, so on and so forth. That is my perspective on it.

Warframe's is... Complicated. They have a lot of in-game lore bits, lots to explore and, contrary to Destiny, new players can experience the vast majority of the lore, which doesn't lead to them being as lost as to who is who, who's doing what, etc. But at the same time there is so much background lore, so much stuff that it is both overwhelming and confusing. It's a very cryptic lore, and that is kinda by design. It's confusing enough to make us question what the hell is going on, but intriguing enough to make us want to dig in a little more. But it's still such a mess and there is so much grinding to get lore bits that most players just go to wikis, forums and YouTube to understand the lore. So that is a big oof too.

What's the conclusion? Well Destiny's is more simple to follow and understand but you can't experience it all as a new player, but at the same time it seems like they just had a solid yet empty foundation that only in recent years have they begun to properly build around on, which explains why it's easy to follow.
Warframe's has a lot to explore but it's just cryptic and confusing as heck to follow and I'd say it relies too much on how cryptic it is to remain interesting, but the problem with that reliance is the fact that it can lose the interest of players way too easily.

Warframe's story is a lot more creative, but isn't explained as well. Destiny's stories are simple, but effective
edit: to clarify, when I say "Destiny's stores" I mean the story quests not including the lore. For the most part, information required to understand the story quests are pretty simple and communicated clearly. The lore is mostly just sidestories. The end of Forsaken is one of the few occurrences where you need lore to understand what happened.

Ok but… Saint-14 head butting a Fallen Kell to death and Lord Shaxx banging Mara Sov with the helmet still on is still some of the greatest lore ever written.

ngl seeing the comments, I think people dont understand the difference between story and lore. Yeah, the story in destiny is kinda simple, but the lore has so many different genres and so many interesting concepts that I havent seen anyone mention. Most people are just talking about caydes death. Has no one here read the books of sorrow or the clovis bray journal.

Something that a lot of people seem to get wrong about the alignment balance thing: white (day) is actually chaos, and black (night) is tranquility. You can actually see the fire and the day one, and the waves in the night one.
