The day many of you've been waiting for has finally come, on our recent trip to northern Thailand while searching for some highly venomous snakes: the Wanghaoting's Krait (Bungarus wanghaotingi). Other target species for the trip were the MacClelland's Coral Snake and the Omkoi Lancehead Pit Viper.

I haven't watched the whole video. I just saw the preview where you got bit by that krait. I hope you are okay.

The way I understand it, one of Slowinski's team caught a snake that wasn't supposed to be venomous and put it in a catch bag. Later Slowinski reached into the bag without checking the snake first and was bitten. The snake turned out to be a krait. He died the next day. His team preformed CPR on him for 26? hours to keep air in his lungs. The expedition was underfunded and didn't have the necessary lifesaving equipment or even a long-range radio to call for help. RIP Dr. Slowinski.

You're so intuitive with these beauties. You can read them so well. When you asked us to spot the difference, I instantly knew the Wolf snake was on the left. The head shape was a dead giveaway. Great prank too. 😅😅

That you caught Sunbeam was the biggest I've ever seen. Those are really interesting snakes they appear resistant to Krait venom. Watched a battle between common Krait and Sunbeam that went on for hours the Krait venom had no effect. Every time the Krait tried to grab the Sunbeams head it would curl itself in a ball around the Kraits head. I've never seen other examples of resistance to neurotoxin among different species before. Fascinating.

Nice Krait, that Pokes Pit Viper with the Red Eyes and Tail, the Gravid one, was absolutely fabulous.

I have to say as someone who has an irrational fear of reptiles I love your channel because I get to see these amazing animals and learn things about them which I would never do on my own.

I don’t think the bite scared anyone. Actually, we were hoping it was the real deal.
