✍️Dr. Matthew Harb talks about ACL Injurys

#ACL tears are common #athletic and #sport injuries leading to anterior and lateral rotatory instability of the #knee.

Diagnosis can be suspected clinically with presence of a traumatic knee effusion with increased laxity on Lachman's test but requires MRI studies to confirm diagnosis.

Treatment involves ligament reconstruction utilizing a variety of techniques and graft choices depending patient age and activity levels.

I’ve had a bit more experience with this test as a patient than I’d like, but hopefully I won’t have anything to do with it again until I’m the one performing it

I remember that. The blood is from draining his knee before doing the tests. My doctor said I needed emergency surgery because I tore up my knee so bad. Said that I was a huge risk of my knee giving out and ripping my artery that’s runs behind the knee. Was immediately taken to the hospital and had surgery two days later.
