How to use OnStar Navigation on your vehicle. Calling and getting directions uploaded into your car while driving.

Thanks for the video. Still undecided about using OnStar for navigation. I suppose it is helpful when in unknown locations. We all have cell phones that do the same thing for navigation. Plus I can do navigation on my home PC laptop before I go traveling. So there are several ways to do this. Most the time I know where I am going.

I have a 2001 Monte Carlo (21 years old now) which has the OnStar buttons and never used them. Plus back then they did not have GPS navigation, or if they did never used it. Also never had any accidents or stolen with the vehicle, so I would be paying for something I never will use. Not sure what else OnStar is good for.
So with my new Bolt EV I am going to get in spring 2023, I will opt out of not getting OnStar.
But it is up to the individual to subscribe to OnStar.

Good vid for someone that's committed to using the OnStar Nav.

I've been watching a few of these OnStar Nav vids and it's definitely turning me off to a GM purchase, unless I can have an independent, built-in nav system without having to plug my phone in to do the job.

why do I need to call someone to get directions...turn by turn...it's backwards thinking..I prefer the map...like google maps

It response to the power of your voice it lets you focus on the destinations ahead with turn by turn and hands free calling you can concentrate on important things like driving.

I find it hilarious that my 2017 Impala comes with OnStar AND Apple CarPlay. OnStar is so obsolete. 🤣
