Indonesia also have lumpia that looks very similar but with different filling (mostly vegetables). I'm not trying to claim or whatever but since Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia come from same root, i think that's why we all have similar food and culture and they're all beautiful. Spread love, not hate. Peace 😇

I'm Indonesian and we also call it lumpia! It's cool that we share some aspects of food & culture throughout Southeast Asia

I’m Mexican and I adore lumpia so damn much! I first had it as a kid when a boy in my class brought over his grandmas lumpia’s! They were amazing, then I made them now as a adult and I’m hooked! Nothing beats a lumpia roll 😭❤️🇵🇭

*I read some comments from Indonesians claiming that it is their own recipe and LUMPIA is an Indonesian thing. ?? Filipinos and Indonesians are AUSTRONESIAN. We have a lot of similarities, even our language is a bit similar. BUT, don't claim. Everybody, everyone has their own version of lumpia but they just call it in a different way. There's lumpia in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Guam and even in the US (they just call it Springrolls/Eggrolls).* *sigh*

I had a lot of filipino friends growing up and yes. School food parties. We look at them. Knowing. Knowing there will be lumpia and pancit at a party. Or else.

I used to work with a Filipino guy who would bring these to work every once in awhile. So when I found this recipe, I was excited to try it. They were awesome! Super easy, but it is a process. I would have the oil a little hotter than what she specified. I went with 350 and they came out perfect. A tip I learned a long time ago with making eggroll-like dishes is to let the filling cool to room temperature before you roll them. That way, they don't get soggy inside. Thanks Mel for posting.

My son in law loves it! Your video is clear, easy to follow and funny. I just made 40 today because his family is coming to visit for the holidays. I believe we will use an air fryer this time. Thank you!

Growing up in Long Beach CA Lumpia was at all the school potlucks. I remember my mom taking us trick or treating hella late one time and this family offering us Lumpia because they had no more candy lol. Awwww memories.

I cook mine with raw ingredients. I vary the ingredients slightly with the veggies, but keep the same meat and use raw pork. I also cut the lumpia wrappers diagonally, so I get two wrappers in one. Saves money and I've got more lumpia! 😂

I'm Filipino and I make my lumpia very differently! I separate the eggs and add the yolk to the meat mixture, then I use just the whites to seal the wrapper. I also cut the wrapper into two triangles (you get twice the wrappers that way and they come out crispier!) And I don't cook the meat mixture before rolling it in the wrapper 💁
