Ratios reflect relationships between parts.
One of the convenient ways to represent a ratio is by use of fractions. Earlier, we have discussed how we can multiply or divide both the numerator and the denominator by the same value simultaneously, and the resultant fraction would be equal to the original. This gives us a tool to ‘scale’ relationships expressed by ratios.
That we can preserve the relationship while changing the numerator and the denominator in a fraction empowers us to solve math problems.
