Season 1: Charming, clever, and grabbed your attention
Season 2: Intense, made big improvements over the first season, and the only season to question the ethics of Dexters actions
Season 3: Slow but engaging, writing paid off at the end; calm pace appreciated after intense S2
Season 4: Intense, clever, well written despite some slow points with a fantastic final four episodes
Season 5: Dark and sinister, very good season and criminally underrated, despite an admittedly frustrating ending
Season 6: Entertaining but sloppy and seemed out of touch from previous five seasons
Season 7: Started great and intense like S2, ended feeling like an extension of season 8
Season 8: Not as awful as people say but loads of wasted potential and questionable writing choices make it the worst
