When I didn't tag much my videos seem to perform worse than usual hence I decided it best to continue to adding tags in my videos, I'm aware that YT explained that we don't really need them but I'd prefer to keep tagging at least for now as every bit of SEO helps especially when you're small.

We all know how much tags are useful and how much tags are not useful and for youtuber getting even single view on adding tags can really boost that youtuber confidence. I would prefer to go through every possible corner of YT while uploading video. Because we won't stop searching for fish by sitting in on one edge only. We prefer going in boat and scour every edge of Lake. Youtubers who are trying don't give up. Remember you are doing much better than yesterday 🙌

Hmmm...I've actually found that using tags Is VERY helpful especially for a small channel. Every little bit that helps the algorithm discover your content goes a long way!👍

Just use always the same tags. You can copy them on the computer when you push on the button that looks like two papers.

Just currious why one of your reasons to upgrade to Boost? Is actually tags? And a boost your video with a Boost TAG button? And your VidIQ rating without tags go way down? I'm thinking you need to retool your program.

Usually tags don't make small or any changes at all, spend more time making nice video ideas to be unique and will make you stand out from others.

when it comes to videos, this does apply. but when it comes to shorts, USE THEM. i’m pretty sure the reason i’ve gotten thousands of views on every short i make is because of tags. i even told some of my friends to upload the same type of content with the same tags and they also got thousands of views on each video. so basically, tags are irrelevant for videos but essential for shorts

Tags are extremely quick, you even sell a product that adds them if you want them to be even faster. To think YouTube will never use these in the future is pretty ridiculous. Just put them on, it may only help a little but it takes almost no time to through some keywords on there.

SEO and web crawlers using metadata isn’t changing anytime soon, this low effort task is worth doing imo.
