People may misunderstand Saitama having "infinite strength", it isn't strength, it's his "infinite potential", it's the ability to grow in power limitlessly, and infinite potential > infinite strength, because having infinite potential doesn't simply give you infinite strength, but it can give all these things:
Limitless range of abilities, meaning he can have abilities like plot manipulation with this
Limitless basic stats such as strength, durability and speed
Infinite potential can evolve to infinite transcendence, basically allowing you to surpass almost everything

Even though infinite potential is way stronger than infinite strength, it is rather not easy to reach infinity even with infinite potential, infinite strength is stronger in early, but when it comes to late, infinite potential is indeed way stronger by infinite shot

Also, many Goku fans misunderstand that Goku has infinite potential as well, well, no, it's actually because of saiyans only break their limits, while Saitama, has actually broke all of his limiters, even though Saitama is definitely weaker than Goku right now, it's not impossible for Saitama to catch up, something who has infinite potential will grow in power way faster than someone who breaks limits

I love Saitama, I love One Punch Man as a whole, but contrary to what another comment said, Saitama does NOT have infinite strength, speed, durability, etc. At least, not YET. Saitama had infinite POTENTIAL to GROW. And an incredibly high growth rate at that. He does NOT have infinite strength, and nor can he if he can keep growing stronger. Cosmic Fear Garou matched Saitama's "full power" at the time, but Saitama grew faster than Garou and got to be too strong for him to handle. Goku is, at this point in the manga, leagues higher in those physical attributes at this point in their respective stories. However, Saitama at his full potential, growing as high as he possibly can, will be stronger, faster, and more durable than Goku could ever be. Because he broke his limiter, he can grow to be boundless, but he isn't there yet. The manga isn't at that point yet. It's essentially just started, at most its about a third of the way through the story, but most likely at half or less. Give it time.
