The one thing people need to keep in mind is engine size is only part of the story when it comes to gas mileage. You have to look at power to weight ratio, and when I did some calculations, the Camry has a slightly higher ratio so it's able to keep pace with the Corolla interms of fuel economy. It's also a common mistake to think that a 4 cylinder will automatically get better gas mileage than a 6 cylinder. If that 4 cylinder is working harder, but the vehicle is lighter, than the one with the 6 cylinder, the 4 cylinder may actaully get worse gas milage. Good example: my 2013 Silveardo with a V8 5.3L versus my friend's Ford Ranger with a 6 cylinder 3.0L. My truck gets better gas milage than his Ranger because my engine has to work less hard when driving, say, at highway speeds and therefore is more efficient in its operation overall because the power-to-weight ratio is different. I'm actaully surprised that the new Camry gets darn near the same fuel economy as the Corolla, which is good news for those who want a larger car, but are worried about fuel economy.

My wife and 8 year old son shopped together for a new corolla in 2008. He is now completing his 4th year of university and we intend on transferring the ownership to him upon his graduation. How’s that for a Toyota Corolla 13 years old, no rust and absolute bulletproof reliability. Performed the recommended maintenance only. I would definitely purchase

The more electronics and bells and whistles .. the more to go wrong.
It's a car, not a living room.

Just because the Corolla is smaller doesn't mean they have to make it cheaper than Camry. Why does it have to be a step down from the Camry? Also, why does the Camry get blind spot monitoring and the Corolla does not. It should be part of the safety sense package. Both cars should have the same technology. Finally, 2018 Camry gets the new Entunes 3.0, but the Corolla is stuck with the old Entunes 2.0. Why doesn't the Corolla get the updated infotainment system? Neither has Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, which would be nice.

To get push to start, moonroof and Entunes plus upgrade, you need to get the premium package on the Corolla LE/SE models

Drive both vehicles. There is NO comparison when driving. The Camry is so much more in every way.

I have new corolla 2016 and I wish I went with Camry instead! It is not only the size but corolla is really light shaking on high ways. It struggles in merging in and going up hills. More importantly, suspension in the corolla is really bad. It is too tough on pumps. Seats are tough as bus stops seats. Waiting to get rid of this car.

I would buy a corolla if I was buying a car. If I was looking for more space, I would just buy a Rav4

A lot of problems with those 8 speed automatic transmissions. Especially in 2018 and a few in 2019

In the past Camry sold more cars in the USA and Corolla sold better every where else.
