no, wayy was this 12 marks! I thought this was quite easy. Probably because I had watched all your videos on substitution by integration so it made this question seem like a piece of cake! Thank you. It truly shows what an amazing teacher you are!

Hi Jack, great video, just one quick question, was the sub x= cosec theta given in this question? If not, how on earth do you get an inverse trig function out of that haha- seems completely out of the blue!

Done it before watching the video and looking forward to seeing how I could do it more proficiently. Lovely question how it all just cancels out so nicely and then the surd form it gives. integration, differential equations and trig are my favourite parts of A-level maths and that basically, all the paper are! Thanks for the help as always - now time to watch the video.

Literally just giggled like a little girl when i said the answer to part of this and then you said it after me, because i finally realised that I'm actually good at this lol

hi there great video thanks very much.

Was just wondering how you got rid of the minus sign in the step when you changed the swapped the limits so that the higher limit was on top? I've always been taught to simply take the minus out of the integral sign and deal with it after integrating. Thanks in advance

isnt your answer should be with -?as 6:42 you miss the minus sign?

hi jacj is it okay for u to do qouteint rule of cosecx when 1/sinx are both not in terms of x

Our 6th form have purchased predicted papers, it has many integration questions harder than this one. Do you think it is possible that a harder question would come up for integration this year (Edexcel)? Looking through 2020, 2019 and 2018 papers, it seems unlikely and perhaps predicted papers are made harder since they are not thought out as much?

But what is your opinion on it? Thanks for your help!

Hey, i was looking at the formula book and it already says what the differentiation of cosecx is so would you still be asked to solve it ? Thank you :)

Is being able to use triangles like this to undo the substitutions in the final results part of the syllabus? I can't find it explicitly mentioned.

Question: when changing limits using the unit circle you get infinite solutions. For example, the next solution for sinx=1/2 is (pi-pi/6)=5pi/6 and similarly for the b bound its 3pi/4. When you integrate on these bounds of b=5pi/6 and a=3pi/4 you get the negative of the answer. Why is that? is it because you should swap a and b and so multiply through by -1, giving the correct answer? Many Thanks
